There are two options to pay for a class: cash and check made out to Hammersmith Studios. Once you decide upon a class give a call or email and then pay a deposit of 1/2 or pay in full for the blacksmithing class or lesson. This will assure you have a space in that class or private lesson. If you paid 1/2 balance due two weeks before class starts. Also bring your own pair of safety glasses and work gloves to class. Dress in work boots or leather type work shoes. We have leather aprons for you to wear during your lesson.
We teach one class at one time slot. There are not multiple classes running at the same time.
We choose to keep our class size small too!
The class schedule is organic ( not set) when a student calls to inquire about a class , if the time and day isn't already booked then the space is available for them. The classes are booked as the interest grows. Therefore we run classes to accommodate the student's interest and their weekend schedule.
Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount for a blacksmithing class or lesson. They are redeemable for one year after purchase and non refundable. If you want to purchase one just call or email and we will send it out to you or the recipient which ever you prefer. We accept cash and checks.
"I've had two lessons so far and will definitely be going back for more. Carl can answer any questions you may have about the craft and explains each step thoroughly, so you know what to do and why. Susan was amazing, encouraging and helpful. She even took a few pictures and sent them to me. Because of my experience with them, I want to take this up as a new hobby. I highly recommend a visit to learn a little more about this craft and appreciate it when you see it in your daily life."
I enjoyed all of it. The speed of class the simple yet deceptively not so easy spoon. I will be recommending this to many of my friends.
Flawless class-Full of small lessons along the way. I appreciate the encouragement for creativity and design. Had a Blast!
The Classical Blacksmithing School of Boston was started in 2004. We wanted to provide students with quality instruction in a creative environment to learn blacksmithing & metal craft while having fun.
